Yesterday, Pn Rosseni came to give a lecture for second time. She mentioned about the blogging task and some of us were reluctant to do the task as it was not considered in syllabus. I felt pity at her because this was not her fault and she just gave the task as the another lecturer required her to do so.
Well, in my opinion, since I had started the blogging, I still can continue when I have a new idea about thinking.
Now, return to the title “Mother language vs International language“. Why I’m saying so?
Actually I love blogging, but most of the posts were in Mandarin. I’m using the blog in friendster.
By using my mother language — Mandarin, I can express my feeling and thinking precisely, the reader can feel the exact feeling that I want to mention about. The posts were melted by various of feeling, such as happiness, anger, sadness, excitement, disappointment, etc. In addition, I like to add my weird opinions and ideas so that I can share with others.
That’s my goal ~Sharing is Caring~, haha…
English language was recognized as international language since British time, please correct me if I’m wrong. Furthermore, Vision 2020 was developed in order to achieve global world standard, am I right? Again, please correct me if I’m wrong, hehe…
However, I have to admit that my English language level not very good. I cannot speak English as fluently as Mandarin, or even Bahasa Melayu. As a result, I fail to give my view or idea exactly as the vocabulary used does not match with it. So, I think I should blame myself because I never pay any effort on English language subject during my primary and secondary schooling time.
Hmm…what I’m trying to say is I cannot write in English as good as Mandarin. Hopefully you all understand what I’m trying to say, hehe…Anyway, I’ll try to improve myself.

Last but not least, when we are using a language which is not familiar with us, we are in the process of thinking too! How? We have to translate the words into another language which everyone can understand the meaning of it. Just like what I’m doing now, I’m thinking in Mandarin words first then translate it into English words when I write it out.
Language is a magic I think.

I thank you for your concern. I actually felt bad for all of you. I definitely don’t blame the two lecturers. I was asked by Dr. Kamisah to cover the topic for week 7 (Technologi for CCT). I agreed because it is part of what I developed for my PhD and it would be a chance for me to put it in practice (one of my theses assumption is that blogging can make reflection easy – you can freely write and have a metacognition process happen when you proofread, have others comment and rethink what you thought before – among other things).
As for your comment about mother tounge vs international language, i agree with you. I for one am very fond of writing in my mother tongue language that is bahasa Melayu. In the beginning I even wrote all the interfaces of my blog in BM but later when I was asked to teach the TESL and SCIENCE students (especiaaly the PKP TESL from motherland China), i slowly change all the interfaces to BI and have started writing in BI eversince (except for my own expression of thoughts such as the monolog, puisi and syair category – huhu
these days i don’t have much time for that and i really missed the time thingking about old phrases for my expression in BM).
I suppose this is a good thinking process for me too!
